South African War 1899-1902

This 'memorial' is situated on the side of the Hertford Library and School of Art at Old Cross, Hertford. It commemorates all those who volunteered and fought in South Africa during 1899-1902.

The South African War tablet is built into the wall of the Hertford Library and Art School building at Old Cross Hertford

In recognition of the loyalty of the Hertford men who volunteered and were accepted for active service in South Africa. This tablet has been placed here by the Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of this borough.
